Building Content is undergoing a transformation. Not only in look and function, but hopefully into a force of change and growth in the architectural community. Because the former ways of marketing and business development don’t fully apply in this current economy, architects are learning to connect with the client culture through online social media. Architects can build relationships and cultivate clients for far less money than ever before (and with almost no material waste) by establishing their presence online. The professional blog is the efficient – and enjoyable – means to such an online presence. Building Content is here to help.
As I develop the look and function of Building Content, I’d like to share with you some features I’m planning.
Building Content will have a current content page where several of the leading Architectural news sources will be available in one place. If you’re ever in need of a great story for your own blog – or if you just want to keep up with the Architectural press – you’ll have this free resource to call on.
Social Community
Building Content will be a place to meet and share ideas with other Architectural bloggers. A Twitter “Twibe” has already been established and we will have regularly scheduled chats, similar to #BlogChat and #AIAchat (two of my favorites) where we can exchange ideas. Transcripts from our chats will be posted on Building Content.
Guest Blogs
Building Content will host guest blog posts from within our community. I personally follow several architectural bloggers and will be inviting them to bring their tips and experiences to this page. As our reputation grows I hope to have other experts, beyond the field of architecture, visit us with their critiques and expert advice.
Featured Content
Building Content will reach beyond written posts and push into audio podcasts and video offerings in order to reach potential architectural clients wherever they dwell online. My contribution to this featured content will be a series of cartoons for and about architects. Other media could be self-produced documentaries, how-to instructions, even a drama series – all as vehicles to promote our work and worth to the world online.
Please let me know what you think. What would you like to see on Building Content? What would you like to contribute? Leave a comment and we’ll discuss it!

Greetings Collier,
Thanks for stopping by and for the mentions. You’ve got the start of a great community page here especially with the interactive things you are incorporating. I’ve been curious about how architects are adopting, or thinking of adopting cloud computing. It seems it might help out especially with any graphic intensive processing, but I don’t really know. I’m always interested in producing podcast interviews with those who might want to share some perspectives on that. All the best with the site.
