The Captioned Content page will showcase cartoons of mine that can be used freely (or purchased in some cases) as graphic content for the readers’ own blog development. My first career of choice was not fireman or astronaut but artist. By school age I was captivated by the likes of Dennis the Menace, the Family Circus and contraband issues of Mad Magazine. My declared life’s purpose was to be a cartoonist.
Charles Schultz’s Peanuts was my all-time favorite. I decided at an early age that I would practice drawing Charlie and Snoopy, copying the master as any classically trained artist would, until my renditions were worthy of their creator’s approval. I would be his hand-picked successor when he retired. As you probably know, Mr. Schultz didn’t pick a replacement and retire; Peanuts was published up until the time of his passing in February 2000. I was forty years old by then. While waiting to become the hand that penned the Peanuts, I had earned a degree in Architecture and fathered two children; my career die was long since cast!
I’ve dabbled in cartooning over the years and still have a few tricks up my sleeve. If the panels posted here serve you well, please use them freely. If you have need of a custom cartoon, or an on going series of them, let’s talk purpose and pricing for some truly unique content.
